ahhh playing with Dylan is fun

In person these colors are the same as the old poster on the page(my scanner is tired today). Work has become busier and busier so I am really tired when I get home. If I don't art play in the am before work I doubt I will art play later. So scanner and I shall rest now.

another of my Dylan book pages

This has become a fun project of mine! Some days all the pieces just go together. I found those words in a newspaper ad and they fit the song for that page.
I just took a wonderful class from an amazing artist Ruth Pettus,on oil pastels. Isn't it a "DUH" moment when you finally just play with another medium and it makes sense. I was trying the chalky pastels in the past and it turned me off, until this "oil pastel" class,it's a totally different medium,DUH! I love the results of this. Throwing out all my other pastels, lol.

My harbor in Fells Point

This is my favorite part of the city "Fells Point". It has so much character and oldness. I bought a family brick back when they were redoing the pier that you see. It is nice to see the family names on it every time I walk down there. On the end of that pier is where I ran into Keanu Reeves when he was in town filming. YUM! He stood out and looks to be about 8 ft tall and signed an autograph for me. I was suprised he was so large most actors arent.
This is the drinking and bohemian part of town. Very eclectic places and it's already getting too "yuppie" for my taste. When my sister finshed high school and moved in with me I got her in a play in The Fells Point Theater, and I drove her nightly to play practice. We befriended Doug a local bartender who broght me drinks as we watched her practice.
If you want to see the real Baltimore go here and try a summer Friday evening before sunset as all the beer trucks deliver and the crowds change from day to night life. Its fun to watch the transition.

My city on a notecard dated 1981

In trying to weed out some of my moms things again, I came across this card I sent her. I dated my note 1981 so I guess this photo must be around that time. I see "my city" almost daily and I am amazed when a building is in a spot it wasn't a day before. I can hardly recognize this view. I know if I had a chance to drive my parents thru town today they would not even know where they were,it's all so different. I am most sad about the prime views of "my harbor" are being blocked by new condo and hotel buildings. Fortunately daily I pass a section of town where there is a panoramic view of the harbor. I could not live in a place that doesn't have a "tide chart". I love knowing when it's high or low tide, somehow that matters.

Molly turns 21 this week!

I am finding it hard to believe that my niece the "Divine Miss M" turns 21 this week. Not only is she a YALE diva but she is lovely, smart, has an amazing voice and is a world traveler. This was an exciting child the first baby girl in our family for years but she was easy to spoil with love and attention. I was there the night she was born as well as my mom,her "Nana". Much love to Molly from AJ! You're legal!

"all there in black and white"

I've been thinking about and working on this piece awhile now. I may add more words as they come to me,(mental pause). I took an old pic of myself and turned it into B&W,I am such a minimalist. The changing of another year set off the toughts of this one. I plan to use alot of older pic's this way as B&W.

"L" you know I am thinking of you and so sad another woman has the same crap to deal with.
