These pieces are great, really great. Since you liked the red in my blog, do you have a red Portal?

Dear William, this series started in 2001 the largest pieces are 40x30 down to smaller versions and dimensional portal openings. Funny you asked since most have sold to men. They are done with alot of texture and eschucheons of various sizes.
TSL, thanks for asking, none in red yet an almost red one I put aside. I am working on battery operated lights in the portals soon, for another dimension to them.

These pieces are stunning, Joy. It's wonderful to see artwork in homes and buildings. It just makes them feel "at home". Thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog...congratulations on the inauguration of your new president. This will be a new and exciting beginning for your country and the world.

Wonderful pieces Joy. I love the concept and the execution. I am totally drawn to looking into each one of the portals. And the textured surfaces are just asking to be touched. I agree with Heather too...it is nice to see the art actually hung in a real room.

Your Portals are outstanding. I agree that lights would add yet another dimension to the pieces.
I also like that you showed pics of where they are now hanging.
Best-
Ingrid

Hi Joy, I like those a lot, especially the grey one.
The circle is always my favourite shape and I use it often myself in painting and collage.
I am looking forward to see the lighted portals.

thanks for the comment, I am in the States right now and was able to watch the inauguration. My grandmother was saying good bye good riddance to Bush, my father crying to Arethra Franklin, my mother holding my hand... what a great moment.

Great work here!!! I especially liked that you showed the pieces on the wall. The scans did not do them complete justice. Again, very nice work!!!

So much poetry in these portals... They are like promises of things to come, to open, to discover what's behind these "peepholes"... I've missed you. Came back and traveling again! Kisses
